This is a great question! The main skill that most scientists will use is teamwork. These days, communicating your ideas and results to other people is a huge part of being a successful scientist. A lot of nuclear physicists work on enormous projects at international labs like CERN, so it’s important that we can team up effectively and get things done.
I spend a lot of time working in France, so I also get to practice my language skills quite a lot – although I’m still not very good at speaking French! 🇫🇷

We use skills such as teamwork, communication, writing, talking, and presentations. We have to work on the “soft” skills as well as our science knowledge!

Electronics, computer coding, maths, plumbing, woodwork, management skill, accounting for budgets, teaching for students. The list is huge. Science involves all of the normal skills you get in other jobs, plus you get to discover secrets of the universe!
