• Question: have you always been interested in science

      Yes I have. I used to watch documentaries on TV with my grandad and he would also show me how things worked. I loved working things out and doing experiments as a kid, even if I didn’t relate that to being a scientist at the time. It’s probably why I enjoyed it at school too.

      My interest started with the planets, fossils and dinosaurs. Even if I didn’t understand what science was, I was interested in how everything worked.

      I’ve had a interest in science since I started school. In primary school it was a fun subject that caught my attention and that developed into me deciding to study subjects like science, maths, technology engineering and design.

      I think I’ve always been interested in science, whether I realised it or not. Growing up, I was always fascinated by things like robots, space exploration and the natural world – particularly animals like lizards and snakes. It probably helped that my dad is really interested in astronomy, and still has his own telescope in the back garden!
