• Question: is nuclear power going to last for the long term or is it just a short term solution to reducing carbon emissions?

Here is a short article that shows how the amount of Uranium in the world would sustain nuclear fission for at least 200 years, and over time as technology advances that is likely to double. Within that 200 years, hopefully much sooner perhaps within 50 years, nuclear fusion could become a viable option. There are existing fusion reactors but at the moment, we are putting in more energy in to run them than we get out. Nuclear fusion is designed to be cleaner and more efficient, which means nuclear fusion could be our long term solution to providing our energy at a reduced cost to the environment, provided that someone eventually finds a way to make it viable!
